The YED Middle School Programs include:

  • Personal Economics - A program that helps students assess their personal skills and interests, explore career options, learn job-hunting skills, and discover the value of an education. Students also learn about budgets, personal and family financial management, and the use and abuse of credit.
  • Enterprise in Action - These lessons teaches students the principal characteristics of the American economic system and the role of business in this system. Students learn the steps in organizing a business and producing and marketing a product or service. They also study the social responsibilities of business and the role of government in the U.S. economy. .
  • The Economics of Staying in School - With a series of powerful lessons, at risk students are introduced to the benefits of education through activities including household budgeting, and role playing. The program will take a look at career opportunities and the skills required for each type of job.

Y E D teaches students how to be successful in our free enterprise system. The students understand business, and they value ethics. YED defines ethics as rules or standards, for right/good behavior or actions.

Ethics a must!

With recent corporate scandals giving way to a declining confidence in the business world, it is vital that YED rethink what and how children are taught. While YED strives to ensure that every child in YED has a fundamental understanding of business, economics, and free enterprise, YED students should also know that their goals must be pursued in an ethical and moral manner. One of the best ways to teach today’s youth that the passionate pursuit of ethics in the business world is more important than ever is through a defined school curriculum.

The curriculum is designed to teach our children that responsible, ethical behavior is cornerstone of the free enterprise system

Plan A Business:

It begins with a dream. You want to start your own business. You want to become an entrepreneur.

Are you ready for the risk?

We want to accelerate your success by providing the experiences and expertise you need. Roll up your sleeves and go for it! Who knows? Maybe your business idea will be the next big company listed on NASDAQ.
